Trailer Alert: The Incredible Hulk
by Stevie
Now we're talking! After a very mediocre 1st trailer for the upcoming film The Incredible Hulk, the folks over at Marvel have just put out a brand new trailer featuring more of a back story between Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) and the people he's running from.
I was wary of the film based on the Entertainment Weekly article talking about the alleged behind the scenes drame between the studio, Ed Norton and the director Louis Leterrier (The Transporter), but this new trailer cut definitely shows a more intriguing story that heavily features Ed Norton and a crazy Tim Roth.
Now, I can't wait!
First Look: The Dark Knight Hong Kong billboard plus new posters and banners
by Stevie Wong (stevievipaccess@yahoo.com)

With two more months before the official release date of The Dark Knight, I got my hands on the brand spanking new outdoor billboard that is premiering in Hong Kong today. Featuring Batman overlooking Hong Kong, I can't wait to see what director Christopher Nolan shot of the city with the IMAX camera (apparently 5 scenes in the film were shot on IMAX, I've already seen one featuring a certain Joker and it was AMAZING!).
Want more? Check out some new posters and banners below that went out this week to further fuel the anticipation that is The Dark Knight (that one with the flaming bat is, ahem...hot!).

Cannes 08: Cannes Film Festival announces lineup
by Stevie Wong (stevievipaccess@yahoo.com)
The 61st Cannes Film Festival announced their full lineup this afternoon. Among the films making it into a more streamlined competition are TWO films by Steven Soderburgh ("The Argentine" and "Guerrilla"), Clint Eastwood's latest drama "The Changeling" (starring Angelina Jolie) and also entries by Cannes favorites Atom Egoyan, The Dardenne Brothers and Wim Wenders.
Also making the competition lineup for the 1st time is Singaporean director Eric Khoo ("My Magic") and the animation film "Waltz With Bashir" by Ari Folman about the 1982 invasion of Lebanon by Isreal (oh yes, it's animated! Could it be this year's Persepolis?).
As rumored, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Kung Fu Panda and the Woody Allen film Vicky Christina Barcelona (starring Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Scarlett Johansson) will all be playng out of competition (but bringing some serious star power to the Croisette!).

Trailer Alert: The Spirit
by Stevie

(please wait for the whole bar to load before watching this HD trailer)
The Spirit (dir: Frank Miller) - Though the film doesn't open until 2009, the teaser for the Frank Miller (Sin City) directed film is enough to get me excited. With it's noir-lit images and simple, yet cool, effects, this comic book adaptation tells the story of a rookie cop (Gabriel Macht) who returns from the dead to fight evil in Central City. Featuring Samuel L Jackson, Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson, this already looks to be one of the more creatively visual movies of 2009!
Now, if you can't wait until 2009 to read up on the film, check out...
Preview 2008: New York Times interviews Robert Downey Jr. aka Iron Man
by Stevie

With Iron Man starting off the summer season this year, anticipation of this potential superhero franchise has been high. Over the past few months, with the trailer being one of the most popular online, much blog talk has been focused on the creative casting of Robert Downey Jr. as the movie's lead.
Robert's colorful past and industry regard as one of the most underappreciated actors around, could all be wiped clean with the release of this film. Will it make him a superstar? Does he care?
Check out this cool profile of the actor that the NY Times did today.

Fans who have been buzzing for months on the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, got some extra fuel this weekend with an exclusive special report via Entertainment Weekly.

Cannes 08: Cannes Film Festival reveals this years poster
by Stevie Wong (stevievipaccess@yahoo.com)

The official poster for the 61st Cannes Film Festival was revealed today. Created by Pierre Collier, the poster was inspired by a photograph of David Lynch who has a long history with the festival (both as a winner of the Palme D'or in 1990 and also as the jury head).
The festival, which will commence from May 14th through the 25th has yet to announce their official lineup, but word is that both Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Kung Fu Panda are planning big splashy world premieres on the croisette (though Variety seems to have some ideas of what may or may not make the final list here).
Of course I'll be there to cover the whole event next month, so keep coming back for updated news of the biggest film festival in the world!

VIP Access Exclusive: Street Kings interviews
by Stevie Wong
As I reported last week, I got the chance to talk to director David Ayer (Harsh Times, Training Day screenwriter) and Keanu Reeves for the film Street Kings.
Based on the original screenplay, "The Night Watchmen" by James Ellroy (LA Confidential), director David Ayer has created an updated version about an LAPD detective named Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) who delves into the darkness of the crime ridden streets of LA to investigate the homicide of a fellow policeman. Along the way, Tom discovers that there are larger forces trying to stop him from finding out the true nature of his friends death.
The end result is a truly gritty, violent mystery with Keanu in a role that we've never seen him tackle before.
And boy did I have some questions about the film, check out my talk with director David Ayer below:
After David, I had even more stuff to ask lead actor Keanu. He was really nice considering I was kind of grilling him about some of the issues I had with the film. The interview turned out pretty interesting, if you ask me.
Trailer Alert: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
by Stevie

The blog-verse has been pretty excited over the fact that director Guillermo Del Toro (Pans Labyrinth) has come back to helm the sequel to his 2004 cult hit Hellboy. With his successes since then (an Oscar nomination yo!), it looks like the studio has given Guillermo a pretty amazing creative net to work with.
If you don't believe me, check out this AMAZING new trailer for the upcoming summer film Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.
VIP Access exclusive: Run Fatboy Run interviews
by Stevie Wong

When I got notice that I was going to get some 1 on 1 time with the cast of Run Fatboy Run, my inner fanboy got a tad excited with the idea that I'd get to chat with both Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaced (TV Series)) and Thandie Newton (Pursuit of Happyness, Crash); two actors which I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Of course, my "professionalism" had to kick in, but trust me, deep inside, I was a happy camper. Lucky for me, Thandie set the fun tone for her interview as the button of her corset top kept on popping throughout our chat (I counted three times!).
Check out our 'poppin' interview below:
As for Simon Pegg, I have been an avid fan of his previous work in the TV series Spaced, which not only launched his career, but paved the way to be the co-creator and star of the cult films Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
But as Thandie said, though his work is hilarious, he does come across as a bit serious (as you'll see below).
Like I care, I got to talk to Simon Pegg!!
Trailer Alert: Bangkok Dangerous
by Stevie

Bangkok Dangerous (dir: The Pang Brothers) - after being on the shelf for almost 2 years, the Pang Brothers / Nicolas Cage remake of Bangkok Dangerous finally hits our screens later this summer. Surprisingly, the film actually looks pretty decent. Why the long wait then? You'll have to check out the film when it opens in a theatre near you around August.
