The second season of Aamir Khan’s TV show Satyamev Jayate is finally underway.
Uday Shankar, CEO of STAR India, says, “We will look at international players who are veterans or emerging to be part of the team. However, we are also looking at the availability of some star players, as most of them have a heavy schedule and, for instance, are booked for eight-to-10 months in the European Premier League. It is not a question of money, but we have to see whether we can get them to play a few games.”
“For far too long, the Indian sports fan has quietly waited for this revolution on the cusp of which we stand today. Our objective is nothing short of creating a movement around football in India. We want to put India on the global map,” said Uday Shankar, CEO, STAR India.
Ajit Mohan, business head (digital media) at Star India Pvt. Ltd, said that the company is seeing “meaningful consumption happening across screens. If you look at where the consumer is watching content and his time spent, there is a clear shift”.
