Star Plus general manager Gaurav Banerjee said, “Our idea for Sunday is to programme Star Plus for young people, which is why we have these shows. Though we have not tried this in the past, we hope to be successful. If we don’t, we will learn something from it.”

Every week, hundreds are jamming stadiums to watch players display their awesome lungpower in a league that – surprisingly – is picking decent ratings in a sports channel.

Speaking about the show, Gaurav Banerjee, General Manager, Star Plus said, “Star Plus has always been at the forefront of creating benchmarks. With India’s Raw Star, we are trying something unique in the singing reality show genre. The attempt is to reach out to the youth of this country and who better than the biggest youth icon, Yo Yo Honey Singh to take this ahead. This show will change the visual and music grammar of singing reality shows in India. All the 10 performers are very talented and Yo Yo Honey Singh has handpicked them so that the audiences get to see pure & raw talent.”
