Channel [v] shows lead the pack!

9 February 2012

Channel [v], India’s leading youth entertainment channel, rides over competition yet again to top the youth genre. While MTV and Bindass languish at 33 & 22 GRP’s respectively, Channel [v] lords over at 37 GRP’s this week. This leadership comes on the back of continued dominance of Dil Dostii Dance and Humse Hai Liife, the hugely popular fiction shows on Channel [v]. The duo have the highest per episode ratings as well as yield yet again this week.

Channel [v] has been No.1in the genre for almost 5 months with an average growth of almost 10% each week. Leaving behind MTV and Bindaas, the average time spent on the channel stands at 35 minutes, almost 20% ahead of competition.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Prem Kamath, Executive VP and GM, Channel [v], says, “Our content has ensured our leadership in the genre over the past quarter. Both Dil Dostii Dance and Humse Hai Liife have done exceptionally well and are consistently the genre’s highest rated properties. Steal Ur Girlfriend continues to get an outstanding response even well past the halfway point of the show, when usually ratings tend to dip. Clearly, the premise of these shows is very potent and their relatability, timeless.”
However you slice the TG, whether CS4+, CS 15-34 or CS 10-14, Channel [v] leads in all these groups. The channel has a healthy reach of 32% and according to the ratings, 9 out of 10 top programs are from Channel [v], including D3 at #1.
The Youth & Music Genre has garnered a market share of 7.6% with 246 GRPs. Total TV was at 3254 GRPs.
