Talking about the launch of the show,Gaurav Kapur says, “The very concept of Freaky Traveller enthralled me. During the hunt for a travel jockey, a first in its kind, I was amazed at the contestants’ confidence and willingness to go the extra mile. We were particularly looking for someone who was confident, had presence of mind, was uninhibited and had a whacky sense of humour. We found all that and much more in Brij Bhakta. He was the ideal host for the show, the apt Freaky Traveller! It was a wonderful experience grooming him as he went across India, taking a different spin on how he saw the world. It has been a fun journey indeed and I’m sure the viewers would enjoy the show as much as we did.”

Debarpita Banerjee, VP- Marketing, FOX International Channels, commented on the new show on the channel saying, “We have taken the word FUN and increased what we can pack in, exponentially. This is one journey that is nothing but pushing the edge on whacky fun. Brij takes us across India, and walks us through some really hilarious situations, and a perspective and take on things only a stand- up comedian will manage. At FOX Traveller we showcase more than just beautiful destinations; this show completely lives up to it”

Star Plus general manager Gaurav Banerjee says: “The story is urban and contemporary. This love story begins after a marriage gets over. It explores the theme of a second chance in love. With well-etched characters and a strong urban narrative, the show deals with day-to-day issues faced by modern couples. We are positive that our metro audiences will see a connect with Ishita and Raman, and follow their story.”

Indian mythology serials still a hit on TV

Star India and Zee TV say the focus on making the stories relevant to today's generation has led to the success. "Vyasa wrote the Mahabharat after the Vedas, to convey the same message as the Vedas but through a story," says Star India's programming head Danish Khan.
