GEC Watch: Colors reclaims No. 3 position

Colors and SAB TV add more viewers in Week 24 of TAM 2014 whereas all other GECs lose eyeballs.

After two weeks at No. 4, Colors has bounced back to No. 3 position in Week 24 of TAM 2014. Besides Colors, SAB TV was the only other channel to add more viewers this week; all other Hindi general entertainment channels lost eyeballs.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 24 of TAM 2014 (June 8 – June 14) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus dropped further but retained the top position. Zee TV too witnessed decline in viewership. Colors returned to No. 3 pushing Life OK at No. 4. Sony and SAB TV remained at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

Star Plus’ gross viewership dropped further to 626 GTVMs with a relative share of 27.53% (last week 647 TVM with 27.83% relative share).

Zee TV too witnessed marginal decline in its viewership and recorded 376 GTVM in Week 23. The channel had a relative share of 16.53% (last week 383 TVM and 16.47% relative share).

Colors jumped to No. 3 position by adding 16 TVM to its gross viewership this week. The channels recorded 366 GTVM with a relative share of 16.09%. (last week 350 TVM with 15.05% relative share).

Life OK lost maximum eyeballs this week and dropped to 319 GTVM. The channel recorded a relative share of 14.03% (last week 371 TVM and 15.96%).

Sony also witnessed a decline in its gross viewership and dropped to 300 GTVM with a relative share of 13.19%. (last week 313 TVM and 13.46% relative share).

SAB TV gained this week and grew to 287 TVM with a relative share of 12.62% (last week 261 TVM and 11.23% relative share).
