GEC Watch: Life OK’s ‘Dare to Dance’ opens on strong note

‘Dare to Dance’ opens at 4.5 TVM to become the second most watched show of the weekend. Sony’s new weekday show ‘Hum Hain Na’ opens at 3.2 TVM in Week 36 of TAM 2014.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 36 of TAM 2014 (August 31 – September 6) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Zee TV continued to hold the top 2 slots in weekday programming with ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ topping the chart for the first time. Zee TV and Star Plus held 4 slots each, leaving one each for Colors and SAB TV, in the top 10 weekday shows list.
The week also saw the launch of two new shows. Sony’s latest weekday offering, ‘Hum Hain Na’, opened at 3.2 TVM while Life OK’s ‘Dare to Dance’ was the second most watched show during the weekend in its opening week, opening at 4.5 TVM.
Colors ruled the weekend with ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ at the top of the chart.

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya topped the weekday programming for the first time with average viewership of 8.6 TVM this week (last week 8.6 TVM).
Jodha Akbar on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 2 this week. The show had an average viewership of 8.1 TVM (last week 8.9 TVM).
Star Plus’ Saathiya held No. 3 position with an improved viewership of 8 TVM (last week 7.3).
Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus too added more eyeballs this week and held No. 4 position. The show fetched an average viewership of 7 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).
Jamai Raja on Zee TV held No. 5 position with an average viewership of 6.4 TVM (last week 6.6 TVM).
Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka jumped one position to No. 6 with an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 6 TVM).
Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai climbed two positions to No. 7 this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 5.3 TVM).
Qubool Hai on Zee TV slipped two positions to No. 8 with an average viewership of 6.1 TVM (last week 6.2).
Taarak MehtaKa Ooltah Chashma on SAB TV slipped one position to No. 9 with 6.1 TVM (last week 5.9 TVM).
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus was at No. 10 with an average viewership of 5.7 TVM (last week 5.3 TVM).
Weekend toppers
Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors continued to lead weekend programming. The show fetched an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 7).
Life OK’s Dare to Dance was the second most watched show during the weekend. The show opened at 4.5 TVM and helped the channel add 59 TVM to its gross viewership and jump to No. 4 position.
Colors’ celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa fetched an average viewership of 4.4 TVM (last week 4.6).
Star Plus’ new weekend singing reality show, India’s Raw Star, held its viewership in its second week and fetched 4.3 TVM (last week 4.5 TVM).
Adalat on Sony fetched 3.8 TVM against last week’s 1.1 TVM.
Airlines on Star Plus grew in its second week and fetched 3.5 TVM (last week 3.3).
Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched 3.2 TVM against last week’s 3.5 TVM.
Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale too grew in its second week. The show garnered 2.9 TVM (last week 2 TVM).
Shapath on Life OK grew to 2.4 TVM (last week 1.8).
Colors’ The Anupam Kher Show fetched 1.7 TVM (last week 1.7 TVM).
Life OK’s Hatim garnered 1.7 TVM (last week 1.5).
India’s Best Cine Star Ki Khoj on Zee TV grew to 1.6 TVM (last week 1.4).
Sony’s crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 1.3 TVM (last week 1.9).
