GEC Watch: SAB and Sony increase viewership in Week 48

Colors managed to retain its 2nd position though the channel witnessed fall in viewership. Big Magic stayed ahead of the pack of newer GECs.
SAB and Sony increased their viewership by 23 GTVMs each in week 48 of TAM 2014. While most channels lost marginal viewership, the pecking order remained unchanged. Epic clocked a gross viewership of 2.93 TVM in its first full week. The channel had launched last week with 1.24 TVM over 3.5 days.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 48 of TAM 2014 (November 23 – November 29) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus retained its leadership position followed by Colors at No. 2 and Zee TV at No. 3. Life OK, SAB TV and Sony were at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Among the newer GECs, Big Magic stayed ahead of Sony Pal and Zindagi.
Star Plus recorded gross viewership of 625 GTVM with a relative share of 25.17% (last week 631 GTVM and 25.4% of relative share).
Colors recorded gross viewership of 467 GTVM with a relative share of 19.23% (last week 482 GTVM and 19.40% of relative share).
At No. 3, Zee TV recorded gross viewership of 435 GTVM with 17.27% relative share (last week 433 GTVM and 17.43% relative share).
Life OK clocked gross viewership of 324 GTVM. The channel had a relative share of 13.00% (last week 326 TVM and 13.12% of relative share).
SAB TV added 23 GTVM to turn in a gross viewership of 299 GTVM with 11.01% relative share (last week 276 GTVM and 11.11% of relative share).
Sony also added 23 GTVM to clock gross viewership of 230 GTVM with a relative share of 8.26% (last week 207 GTVM and 8.33% of relative share).
Big Magic recorded viewership of 62 GTVM with a relative share of 2.75% (last week 69 GTVM and relative share 2.78%)
Sony Pal fetched 33 GTVM with a relative share of 1.19% (last week 30 GTVM and 1.21% of relative share).
Zindagi too witnessed growth in viewership at 31 GTVM with a relative share of 1.19% (last week 30 GTVM and 1.21% of relative share).
