GEC Watch: Star Plus boosts leadership; Colors returns to No. 2

Star Plus strengthened its leadership further and touched a record viewership of 579 million in Week 50 of TAM 2013. Colors was back at No. 2 despite a slight drop in its viewership and was separated by only 10 million TVTs from Zee TV which slipped back to No. 3 after losing 41 million TVTs.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 50 (December 8 – December 14) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Life OK stayed firm at No. 4 despite a slight decline in its viewership this week. SAB and Sony regained as their distribution issues got sorted out.

Star Plus widened its lead over competition by 130 million and touched record viewership this week. The channel recorded 579 million TVT with a relative share of 24.76% (last week 561 million TVT with 24.15% relative share).

Colors returned at No. 2 position with a Gross TVT of 449 million. It had a relative share of 19.20% (last week 456 million TVT with 19.63% relative share).

Zee TV slipped to No. 3 after losing 41 million TVTs in its gross viewership this week. The channel recorded a Gross TVT of 439 million and a relative share of 18.78% (last week 480million with 20.66% relative share).

Life OK retained its No. 4 position with Gross TVT of 313 million against last week’s 325 million. The relative share was at 13.39% in Week 50 against 13.99% in the previous week.

SAB TV grew on the back of normal distribution and recorded 291 million TVT and 12.45% relative share (last week 260 million TVT and 11.19% relative share).

Sony recorded Gross TVT of 267 million. It had a relative share of 11.42% relative share (last week 241 million TVTs with 10.37% of relative share).
