GEC Watch: Star Plus captures top 3 slots as Zee TV grows to 3 shows in weekday top 10

Colors continues to rule the weekend chart with Comedy Nights With Kapil. Its new weekend offering ‘The Anupam Kher Show’ opened at 2.6 TVM in Week 28.

All eyes were on Colors’ latest weekend offering, ‘The Anupam Kher Show’, in Week 28. The show fetched 2.6 TVM on peoplemeters. On the other hand, Zee TV’s latest weekend show, ‘India’s Best Cine Star Ki Khoj’, also garnered 2.6 TVM in its second week after opening at 3.5 TVM in the previous week.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 28 of TAM 2014 (July 6 – July 12) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus captured the top 3 slots in weekday programming even as it was reduced to six shows in the top 10. Zee TV’s dominance in fiction grew to three shows in the top 10 this week. SAB TV’s Tarak Mehta continued to be in the top 10.

Colors’ ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ strengthened its weekend leadership and grew by over 30 per cent over last week. CID on Sony remained the second most watched show closely followed by Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Ja.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus reclaimed its top position this week. The show fetched an average viewership of 9.5 TVM (last week 9.2 TVM).

Star Plus’Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Haijumped two positions to No. 2 this week and recorded an average viewership of 8.4 TVM (last week 7.4 TVM).

Star Plus’Saathiyaslipped two positions to No. 3 this week with an average viewership of 7.9 TVM (last week 9.4).

Jodha Akbaron Zee TV slipped one position to No. 4 with an average viewership of 7.6 TVM (last week 8 TVM).

Star Plus’ epic series,Mahabharat,entered the top 5 again with an average viewership of 7.1 TVM this week (last week 6.4 TVM).

SAB’s Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma slipped one position to No. 6 with an average viewership of 6.5 TVM (last week 7 TVM).

Kumkum Bhagyaon Zee TV held No. 7 position with an average viewership of 6.3 TVM this week (last week 6.3 TVM).

Yeh Hai Mohabbateinon Star Plus was unmoved at No. 8 position. The show recorded an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 5.8 TVM).

Qubool Haion Zee TV entered the top 10 club and was at No. 9 position with an average viewership of 5.7 TVM (last week 5.2).

Veeraon Star Plus slipped one position to No. 10 with an average viewership of 5.4 TVM (last week 5.4 TVM).

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapilon Colors strengthened its dominance among weekend programming. The show fetched an average viewership of 7.6 TVM (last week 5.8).

Sony’s crime series,CID, fetched 4.4 TVM against last week’s 4.1 TVM.

Colors’ celebrity dance reality showJhalak Dikhhla Jaagrew to 4.2 TVM (last week 3.3).

India’s Best Cine Star Ki Khojon Zee TV dropped to 2.6 TVM in its second week (last week 3.5).

Colors’ latest weekend offering‘The Anupam Kher Show’opened at 2.6 TVM.

Sony’sEntertainment Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karegafetched an average viewership of 2.1 TVM (last week 2).

Life OK’sShapathgrew to 2.1 TVM (last week 1.9).

Sony’s second crime show,Crime Patrol,garnered 1.8 TVM (last week 1.7).

HatimonLife OK recorded 1.7 TVM (last week 1.5).

Fear Fileson Zee TV fetched 1.4 TVM this week (last week 1.3).
