GEC Watch: Star Plus’ dominance grows to 8 slots in top 10 weekday shows

Saathia on Star Plus takes the top slot. ‘Entertainment ke liye kuchh bhi karega’ boosts Sony in Week 20 of TAM 2014. Mission Sapne grows in its second week.

Week 20 of TAM 2014 witnessed most Hindi general entertainment channels losing viewership to IPL. According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 20 of TAM 2014 (May 11 – May 17) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus strengthened its dominance in weekday programming claiming 8 slots in top 10 list leaving one slot each for Zee TV and SAB TV.

Colors continued to lead weekend programming with ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ at the top followed by ‘Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi’. Its latest offering ‘Mission Sapne’ surged ahead in its second week.

Sony’s new show ‘Entertainment ke liye kuch bhi karega’ opened at an average viewership of 2.7 TVM.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)

Star Plus’Saathiyatopped the weekday chart this week with an average viewership of 9.8 TVM (last week 8.5).

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus slipped to No. 2 with an average viewership of 9.5 TVM (last week 10.5 TVM).

Jodha Akbaron Zee TV too slipped one position to No. 3 and garnered 8.9 TVM (last week 8.5 TVM).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Haiheld its position at No. 4. The show garnered an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 7.3 TVM).

Star Plus’ epic series,Mahabharat,was at No. 5 position with an average viewership of 6 TVM this week (last week 6.3 TVM).

Saraswatichandraon Star Plus grew to 5.8 TVM this week and entered the top 10 list (last week 5 TVM).

Pyaar Ka Dard Haion Star Plus was at No. 7 position with 5.6 TVM (last week 6.3).

SAB’s Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma recovered this week and reached at No. 8. The show garnered an average viewership of 5.6 TVM (last week 5.2 TVM).

Yeh Hai Mohabbateinon Star Plus lost eyeballs this week and slipped to ninth position. The show recorded an average viewership of 5.5 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).

Veeraon Star Plus witnessed decline in its viewership and slipped to No. 10 position. The show had an average viewership of 5.3 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapilon Colors continued to be most watched show during the weekend despite a decline in its viewership. The show fetched an average viewership of 5.5 TVM in Week 20 (last week 6.9).

Colors’ flagship show,Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi,grew to 5.3 TVM (last week 4.9).

Dance India Dance L’il Masters Season 3 on Zee TV retained the third position among weekend shows with 3.3 TVM (last week 3.1 TVM).

Sony’s crime series,CID, fetched 3.3 TVM against last week’s 3 TVM.

Colors’Mission Sapnegrew in its second week at 2.9 TVM from 1.9 TVM in its launch week.

Life OK’sShapathgrew to 2.6 TVM (last week 2.5).

HatimonLife OK recorded 2.5 TVM (last week 2.4).

Fear Fileson Zee TV grew to 2.2 TVM this week (last week 1.9).

Sony’s second crime show,Crime Patrol,garnered 2.1 TVM (last week 2.3).

EncounteronSony retained its average viewership of 1.3 TVM.
