In 1996, as a release from the stress of coping with his terminally-ill stepfather, Chris Pierson was re-introduced to playing music. His first CD was born a week later and he was in Atlanta, Georgia, after his 60,000-mile touring in four years time. However, Chris had to undergo a reinvention process when he found that Atlanta was full of talented artists like him. Being introduced to new music and soaking up all the knowledge and stories from his peers and music professionals alike, Chris fuelled his fire and creativity.

He become more expressive in his singing style and began to look deeper inside himself as a lyricist. In August 2005, his new band, The Trust, was born (which would be later changed to Streetlight Syndrome). Songs that dealt with real issues from drug addiction to heartache and depression were introduced. This was a new era for Chris to play for people who wanted substance in what they were listening to and also a chance to release all the things that had been building up inside his brain for years.
