Born in Egilsstadir in East Iceland, as the third of four kids, Magni Asgeirsson started his band at age 11, and by the age of 15, he had already performed numerous times in public. Magni didn't get serious about music until when he attended a well-facilitated high school in which he was allowed to play a lot of music. Magni's first serious band, Shape, released an album in 1997. In 1999, he gravitated toward the up and coming pop band, A Moti Sol. He then moved to Reykjavik and joined the band which has become one of the biggest pop acts in Iceland since then. They have performed over a hundred times all over Iceland, and in Denmark, Germany, Norway, Luxemburg and the famous cavern club in Liverpool.

Out of the six albums they released, two went gold. Currently, their new single is Top Five in all the radio and download charts in Iceland. Over the last five years, Magni has done various duets and compilations with other Icelandic pop and rock stars. He has also performed songs on children's albums and charity albums.
