RYAN STAR
Day Job: Singer
Hometown: New York
Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Ryan Star has been writing and performing music for long. He has been exposed to music since his early childhood, thanks to his parents' wide collection of records. While growing up, he learned to play guitar and he was fond of playing songs by ear. At the age of 14, Ryan became the lead singer of Stage, the band that he formed with his classmates. They played at famous New York City clubs such as CBGB's and Mercury Lounge.
After Stage built enough buzz to put them up to par with The Strokes, Madonna signed the band to a record deal with Maverick Records. Ryan, who was still in college at the moment, left school with no hesitation and headed for Los Angeles. Ryan toured the country a few times opening for top bands, but he finally decided it was time to move on to something different. The first page of his new journey began with his first solo song, "So Ordinary."
