STORM LARGE
Day Job: Singer
Hometown: Portland, Oregon

Storm Susan Large's talent for music has been presented since the age of 5, when she could sing, pick out harmonies and make up lyrics. While growing up, Storm very quickly outgrew her surroundings. She discovered that, though she was unpopular, weird and constantly at odds with authority, if she sang a few songs, almost all would be forgiven.

Beginning in 1989, Storm sang her way through The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and earned her associates in performance. In 1991, Storm moved to San Francisco and started her first band, Flower SF. A cross between Zeppelin and Jane's Addiction, and they did fairly well. Then came Dirty Mouth which was good for song writing but didn't quite rock like she wanted. In 1998 came Storm Inc., a heavier pop band with more ambition and touring legs, but it imploded in 2001. In 2002, Storm left California for a break from music, but she was convinced to pick up her 58 and keep singing. Thus, the Portland lounge core darlings, The Balls, were born in May of 2002 and, in four years, have wracked up more touring and gigs than all of her previous bands combined.
