The youngest of three children; Toby Rand has been fed a strict diet of rock n' roll by his older brothers. After deciding that studying at university wasn't his thing, Toby pursued a life of singing and has been playing in various establishments around Melbourne for several years.

He is the lead singer for Melbourne rock outfit, Juke Kartel. They have opened for the Taste of Chaos Tour and Nickelback. A number of the band's songs have been used on surf videos and promotional CDs. Toby credits his singing and performing attributes to constant writing and rehearsing.
