Crime drama, Bones

Dexter

The psychological thriller and crime drama, Dexter- first premiered in 2006, has created a niche following for itself and caters to a huge fan following. After having a successful stint of six seasons, Dexter, played by Michael C Hall is a story set in Miami about a blood spatter pattern analyst who works with the police department to solve murder mysteries. It's not as simple as it sounds though, because our good boy Dexter is also a sociopath who kills the killers he helps finding. With two layers running in the story, there are love affairs, hide-and-seek, police politics and suspense that keep the viewers wanting for more. All set to return with its seventh season in September this year, the IMDB 9.1 rated show is only going to get better.

Big Bang Theory

This situational comedy is a geeky delight. Based on science, geeks and nerds- this laugh riot keeps you giggling long after you have turned off your television set. The BBT has averaged 12.3 million viewers in its five seasons that have released and with its return in September this year; the number is only set to rise.

Created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, the show is the story of the everyday but unusual lives of four scientists- Leonard Hofstadter, Sheldon Cooper, Howard Wolowitz and Rajesh Koothrappali and a hot waitress who lives across the hall, Penny. Where the four scientists score in geek-dom and intelligence, Penny is a specialist in social skills and commom sense. This uncanny contrast creates situations where the actors are stuck funnily.

Created and produced by famous Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad nicely captures New Mexico drug scene and meticulously depicts the whole meth cooking process. The term breaking bad is a southern colloquialism and it means when someone who has taken a turn off the path of straight and narrow and have gone wrong. With other promising characters like Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), Skyler White (Anna Gun) and Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), breaking bad meticulously shows how a timid and depressed common man, under the influence of end-life crisis, slowly breaks bad and becomes a proud and pompous New Mexico drug king.
