ANDY IS BACK FOR DARE 2 DATE SEASON 3

13 October 2014

Channel V’s Dating Reality Show makes a comeback this October

13th Oct 2014 - TV is all set to get edgier, crazier and wackier with an all new season of the dating reality show Dare 2 Date. Starting October 13th, the show will air at 5:30 pm (Monday to Saturday) only on Channel V.

Contrary to the run of the mill soap sagas, Dare 2 Date dares to show the quirky side of love, dating and relationships. Conceived as a unique take on the concept of ‘dating’ in a country like India, where it is largely looked upon as a taboo- Dare 2 Date is a lighter look at the ‘art’ of dating and not-so-expected encounters and interactions.

Coming back for the third season is the much loved television personality - Andy, as the host. Known for his fun-loving personality and wacky sense of humour, Andy is popular amongst the youth for his unique style of hosting. He has donned the hat several times including Channel V’s Get Gorgeous, Beauty and the Geek along with the first season and second of Dare 2 Date. Winning a million hearts with his stint as a participant in a famous reality game show, Andy is all set to double the dose of fun in Season 3 of the series.

Commenting on the show, Andy said “Hosting is a whole lot of fun. This show gives me a chance to meet a whole lot of different personalities, some fun, some crazy, and that is what I love about it. I am excited about Dare 2 Date season 3, it’s a show very close to my heart, i get to revisit the riot again and relive the experience with the new generation of daters, let’s see how the craziness makes us laugh & cry all over again

EVP & Business Head of Channel V, Ajit Thakur says, “Channel V creates high-value, cross-platform content geared towards India's youth. We have been breaking clichés and launching shows which do not fall under the regular humdrum content. Dare 2 Date with its unique theme and incorrigible host, Andy is one such show. The show is back for a third season by popular demand and will ensure that viewers are left thoroughly entertained this time around too.”

Dare 2 Date is an anti-romance, anti-mush series where Andy plays both Cupid and Devil and pairs together two people who are the complete opposite of the other's idea of their perfect match. The "couple" are then packed off to a romantic weekend and sparks fly as both get to know each other better. In the end it all comes down to whether the couple lives long enough to tell us their story.

Is the Media in trouble? Mumbai Press Club holds discussion on subject

Uday Shankar, Star India CEO said, “Just because the media has become capital-intensive, doesn’t mean that it has to compromise on your integrity. Every business has to have a value system, and the editor needs to be sensitive to that. Journalists need to wake up to the economic reality, and it can’t be denied. On the other hand, those who recognise that are willing to swing to the other extreme and do anything. That also is neither healthy nor sustainable.”

Channel V plans more events

Prem Kamath, channel head, Channel V, adds, "Participation has gone up by almost 100 per cent. We have had 500-600 participants earlier, this year we had about 1000 participants in each zonal."
