GEC Watch: Star Plus’ dominance continues in weekday, Colors rules weekend programming

As Star Plus continued to dominate the weekday programming with seven of its shows in top-10, Zee TV reduced to one show in Week 14 of TAM 2014. According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 14 of TAM 2014 (March 30 – April 5) CS 4+, HSM markets, Colors’ no-show in weekday top-10 ended this week and the channel secured a slot. SAB’s Tarak Mehta continued to be in the top-10 club.

Weekend programming was clearly dominated by Colors with Comedy Nights with Kapil at the top followed by Khatron Ke Khiladi. Special episode of Comedy Nights with Kapil with Amitabh Bachchan as the guest on Saturday rated 11.1 TVM.

The final episode of ‘Satyamev Jayate’ on Star Plus garnered 5.9 TVM in All India All 4+.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus retained the top slot among the weekday shows with 11.9 TVM this week (last week 11.7 TVM).

Star Plus’ Saathiya held its viewership and second position. The show fetched an average viewership of 9.8 TVM (last week 9.8).

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV retained its No. 3 slot despite a drop in its viewership. The show fetched an average viewership of 8.9 TVM (last week 9.4 TVM).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus held No. 4 position with an average viewership of 7.7 TVM (last week 7.7 TVM).

SAB’s Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma too was unmoved at No. 5. Its average viewership was recorded at 7.4 TVM (last week 7.3 TVM).

Veera on Star Plus retained No. 6 position with an average viewership of 6.9 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).

Star Plus’ epic series, Mahabharat, held No. 7 position. It garnered 6.6 TVM this week (last week 6.1 TVM).

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus was at No. 8 with an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 6.1 TVM).

Star Plus’ late primetime show Ye Hai Mohabbatein climbed one position to No. 9 this week by garnering 5.4 TVM (last week 5.7 TVM).

Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka entered the top-10 club with an average viewership of 5.3 TVM (last week 5.6 TVM).

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors strengthened its leadership and fetched an average viewership of 9.7 TVM in Week 14 (last week 8.7).

Colors’ flagship show Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi grew this week and averaged at 7.1 TVM (last week 6).

The final episode of ‘Satyamev Jayate’ on Star Plus garnered 5.9 TVM in All India All 4+ (last week 6.4 TVM).

Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched 5.4 TVM against last week’s 4.9 TVM.

Dance India Dance L’il Masters Season 3 on Zee TV dropped to 4.3 TVM this week (last week 4.9 TVM).

Sony’s second crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 2.9 TVM (last week 3.1).

Fear Files on Zee TV fetched 2.8 TVM against last week’s 2.4 TVM.

Life OK’s Shapath recorded 2.8 TVM (last week 2.4).

Hatim onLife OK fetched 2.3 TVM (last week 2).
