GEC Watch: Zee TV shows pick up even as Star Plus rules weekday primetime

Star Plus had four shows in the weekday top 10 list followed by Zee TV with three shows and Colors with two in Week 47 of TAM 2014.

Even as Star Plus’ weekday primetime continued to be on a high in Week 47 of TAM 2014, Zee TV too registered growth on the back of its fiction programming.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 47 of TAM 2014 (November 16 – November 22) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus held the top 3 slots and an overall four shows in the weekday top-10 list. It was followed by Zee TV with 3 shows and Colors with two. SAB TV’s Tarak Mehta continued to be in the top-10 club.
‘Bigg Boss Season 8’ on Colors grew to an average viewership of 5.1 TVM against last week’s 4.9 TVM.
‘Comedy Night with Kapil’ continued to rule the weekend programming with an average viewership of 6.4 TVM followed by Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale at 4.2 TVM.
Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000,000’s)
Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum averaged 13.4 TVM this week (last week 14 TVM).
Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus held No. 2 position with an average viewership of 9.3 TVM this week (last week 9.6 TVM).
Sathiya Saath Nibhana on Star Plus recorded an average viewership of 8.8 TVM (last week 9.6 TVM).
Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV jumped five positions to No. 4 this week and recorded an average viewership of 8 TVM (last week 6.8 TVM).
Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai slipped one position to No. 5 this week with an average viewership of 7.7 TVM (last week 8 TVM).
Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka also slipped one position to No. 6 with an average viewership of 7.3 TVM (last week 7.7 TVM).
Zee TV’s Jodha Akbar slipped one position to No. 7. The show recorded an average viewership of 7.3 TVM (last week 7.6 TVM).
Tarak Mehta on SAB TV jumped one position to No. 8 this week and recorded an average viewership of 7.2 TVM (last week 7.1 TVM).
Jamai Raja on Zee TV returned to top-10 club this week with an average viewership of 7.1 TVM against last week’s 6.6 TVM.
Udaan on Colors was at No. 10 with an average viewership of 6.8 TVM (last week 7.3 TVM).
Weekend toppers
Comedy Nights with Kapil on Colors retained the top position among weekend shows. The show fetched an average viewership of 6.4 TVM (last week 6.1 TVM).
Zee TV’s Neeli Chhatri Wale held its viewership at 4.2 TVM.
Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched 3.6 TVM against last week’s 3.1 TVM.
Maharakshak Aryan on Zee TV dropped to 2.6 TVM (last week 3 TVM).
Comedy Classes on Life OK fetched 2.2 TVM (last week 2.1).
India’s Raw Star on Star Plus fetched 1.8 TVM this week (last week 2 TVM).
Star Plus’ Airlines fetched 1.7 TVM (last week 1.5 TVM).
Sony’s other crime series, Crime Patrol, recorded an average viewership of 1.5 TVM (last week 1.4 TVM).
