SRK Gives Spectacular Music Launch of ‘Ra.One’

Leaving no stone unturned to promote his dream project ‘Ra.One’, Shah Rukh Khan organized a first of a kind music release function for the film and also sold the rights to telecast the music release function to an entertainment channel.

SRK was seen getting on top of cars and flying mid-air with the support of suspended cables, all in all making the music launch a spectacular event.

At the event, Shah Rukh announced that he dedicates Ra.One’s music to Yash Johar and Juhi Chawla’s brother Bobby Chawla, who is currently admitted to a hospital and is at the ICU following a stroke.

Overwhelmed with emotions, Juhi said, “The acknowledgement came rather late in the day for her brother who was very involved in the making of the film in the initial stages, before the unfortunate mishap happened. But now people are speculating that the outburst could be part of a publicity stunt for the film."

On the other hand, SRK has been accused of copying poster designs of a Hollywood superhero film ‘Batman Returns’. To this SRK says, “I am not aware of the rip-off. All super heroes are known to kill the villains in the end!”

Content acquisition a double-edged sword for English GECs

Kevin Vaz, Business Head, Star World which also has channels like, FX and Star World Premiere HD said, “Our audience has the maximum skewness towards drama, hence we are keen to acquire shows in that category. We acquired 26 news shows in September 2013. When we chose shows, the audience profile matters a lot. Our core audience would be up-market English speaking people who like global content.”

Hindi GECs: A battle for eyeballs

Star Plus general manager Gaurav Banerjee says: “The story is urban and contemporary. This love story begins after a marriage gets over. It explores the theme of a second chance in love. With well-etched characters and a strong urban narrative, the show deals with day-to-day issues faced by modern couples. We are positive that our metro audiences will see a connect with Ishita and Raman, and follow their story.”
