Star India rings in this Bengali New Year with the introduction of HD revolution in Bengal

Star India is all set to start a new HD revolution in the regional genre. In order to further strengthen its dominant position in the regional genre, India's leading media conglomerate, Star India will be launching Star Jalsha HD and Jalsha Movies HD. The channels will go on-air on the auspicious day of Poila Baisakh – the Bengali New Year that falls on April 14, 2016.
The first-of-its-kind channels in Bengal, these newly launched HD channels will treat the Bengali viewers. The Bengali audience can now enjoy a bouquet of their much loved shows including Mahanayak - A 100 episode series on the life and times of a famous actor starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Bhakter Bhagwan Shri Krishna and Kiranmala – the biggest Bengali mythological/ fantasy series, get to know their favourite stars and see their journey with Star Jalsha Parivaar Awards and Khoka Babu- an unusual interesting love story on Star Jalsha HD, with better clarity in high definition. 
Missed blockbuster films in the theatres? Now the audiences will be able to enjoy a theatre like experience at the comfort of their own house with Jalsha Movies HD. The channel will telecast an eclectic mix of blockbuster movies like Arshi Nagar (A land of mirrors) by multiple National Award winner Aparna Sen, Ki Kore Toke Bolbo (How do I tell you) – a romantic saga, Power – featuring Jeet in a double role and more. 
Speaking on the launch of the two HD channels, Kevin Vaz, General Manager – Star Jalsha and Jalsha Movies said, “We have always strived to better the experience of our viewers and we truly believe that the launch of the HD channels is the logical step forward in that direction.” He further added “Now viewers will be able to view their favourite shows and movies in richer colors, with greater clarity making images sharper. With not one, but two HD channel launches in one day we have again redefined the television viewing experience in Bengal. ”
With the launch of Star Jalsha and Jalsha Movies HD, Star India has once again driven its belief in driving the change and not riding on it. Reinforcing the start of new HD revolution in Bengal, Star Jalsha HD, and Jalsha Movies HD will be available on all the leading carriers like Tata Sky, Airtel, Manthan, GTPLKCBPL, Digi Cable, Siti, Meghbhala Digital, DEN, Hathaway and AMBC. 

Star Jalsha has undergone a complete transformation over the last six months upgrading its systems. As a matter of fact, to showcase greater clarity, sharper images, and rich colours, the HD advertisements were shot with a Phantom camera for the first time in Bengal.
