Star Movies to premiere ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

19 March 2015

Star Movies will present the television premiere of the Marvel superhero film ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ on 22 March at 1 and 9 pm.

The film is the sequel to ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and picks up from the aftermath of the invasion of New York with The Avengers, where Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is trying to ‘blend in’.
Captain America gets involved in a conspiracy that puts the safety of the entire world at risk. He joins forces with his friends to beat the odds as they battle the Winter Soldier. The real threat of Hydra is revealed as the sinister plans unfold.
Star Movies has undertaken a marketing campaign for the premiere. On Twitter, fans of the franchise will witness the havoc created by Hydra and be surprised by messages that are from 20 years hence. The Hydra attack on Star Movies will see the Twitter feed plunge into the future, claims the channel.
“Captain America is trying his best to help Star Movies recover completely, but he needs help. Star Movies is on the lookout for agents to team up with Captain America and help tweet them back in time, to the present, using #CaptainAmericaonStarMovies,” the channel states.
The agent who will successfully help Captain America in defeating Hydra will win a Harley-Davidson Street 750 motorcycle, the ride of choice for Captain America. The hunt for the agents is happening on Star Movies’ Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as in Jet aircrafts, PVR Cinemas, and Gold’s Gym outlets across the country.

Is the Media in trouble? Mumbai Press Club holds discussion on subject

Uday Shankar, Star India CEO said, “Just because the media has become capital-intensive, doesn’t mean that it has to compromise on your integrity. Every business has to have a value system, and the editor needs to be sensitive to that. Journalists need to wake up to the economic reality, and it can’t be denied. On the other hand, those who recognise that are willing to swing to the other extreme and do anything. That also is neither healthy nor sustainable.”

Channel V plans more events

Prem Kamath, channel head, Channel V, adds, "Participation has gone up by almost 100 per cent. We have had 500-600 participants earlier, this year we had about 1000 participants in each zonal."
