Mumbai, 16th September 2014: Every individual has a personal challenge that they are willing to go to any lengths to overcome – their very own EVEREST. And finally when one is able to achieve it, the feeling is nothing short of conquering the highest summit in the world. STAR Plus and celebrated film maker Ashutosh Gowariker have come together to present one such inspirational story – EVEREST.

EVEREST is the story of Anjali, a young girl who aspires to conquer her own personal EVEREST.  At the age of 21, she gets a rude shock when she discovers that her father, who she hero worships, never really wanted a daughter. Faced with the biggest conflict of her life, Anjali is forced to question her very own existence. To redeem herself and find a place in her father’s heart she decides to fulfill her father’s unfulfilled dream – to summit the greatest and highest of all mountains, Mt Everest.

A project of this magnitude and scale, which demands extreme physical and mental strength, required a world-class crew to do complete justice to the concept. Produced under the AGPPL banner, the series has brought together some of the finest artistes from both Bollywood and the Indian Television industry:

Commenting on this occasion, Writer and Producer Ashutosh Gowariker said, “EVEREST is symbolic of every person who struggled in their life to accomplish something. The crew has been a very integral part of this show and EVEREST wouldn’t have been possible without their invaluable contribution. Considering the extremely challenging nature of the terrain, the process of making EVEREST has forced each one of them to push beyond their own creative, physical and mental fitness boundaries. In a way, this show has been everyone’s personal EVEREST.”

Taking the show to the next level, highly acclaimed Music Composer AR Rahman has been roped in to provide the music for this series. “The theme for the title track has been made, keeping in mind the scale of Mt. Everest. The show has high impact visual, and now that we have HD and 5.1 sound, audiences are in for a better experience. It’s a great platform to express music and play round with textures” concluded AR Rahman.

With this series, STAR Plus is once again set to raise the bar of content currently showcased on Indian Television. Shot in real locations, and featuring a powerhouse of talent, the show promises to bring to your TV sets, scale, grandeur and visual splendor of a magnitude unlike any seen before.
