GEC Watch: Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati back at the top; Colors back with 2 shows in top 10

Star Plus reclaimed the top slot in weekday programming as its flagship fiction show, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, topped the chart again after it was pushed to No. 2 by Zee TV’s Jodha Akbar last week. The dream run of Star Plus of over 700 million GTVM continued for the second week in a row on the back of six-day weekday programming with the channel grabbing six slots among the top 10 weekday shows.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 7 of TAM 2014 (February 9 – February 15) CS 4+, HSM markets, Colors bounced back with 2 of its weekday shows in top 10 while Zee TV was reduced to two shows. SAB TV continued with one show in top 10 list.

Weekend programming was again dominated by Colors. The premiere of ‘R Rajkumar’ on Sunday, February 9, delivered 11.5 TVM for the channel. It continued to hold the top two weekend slots with ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and ‘India’s Got Talent’.

GIMA on Star Plus rated 4.3 TVM.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000’s)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus regained its top position after a week. The show recorded 13.3 TVM this week (last week 12.4 TVM).

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV couldn’t hold the top position it acquired last week, and slipped to No. 2. The show fetched an average viewership of 11.6 TVM (last week 13.3 TVM).

Star Plus’ Saathiya held the No. 3 position with 9.9 TVM (last week 9.9).

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus too held No. 4 position with an average viewership of 8.3 TVM (last week 8.2 TVM).

SAB’s Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma jumped one position to No. 5 with an average viewership of 7.7 TVM against last week’s 7.6 TVM.

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus too climbed one position to No. 6 by recording 7.7 TVM (last week 7 TVM).

Star Plus’ epic series, Mahabharat, slipped two positions to No. 7 this week with 7.5 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).

Balika Vadhu on Colors returned to the top 10 list claiming the No. 8 position. The show garnered an average viewership of 6.8 TVM (last week 5.8 TVM).

Veera on Star Plus was the new entrant in the top 10 club with an average viewership of 6.3 TVM (last week 6.1 TVM).

Qubool Hai on Zee TV held No. 10 position with an average viewership of 6.1 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).

Another show at No. 10 was Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka that garnered an average viewership of 6.1 TVM (last week 5.2 TVM).

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors witnessed surge in its viewership. It garnered 9.1 TVM in Week 7 (last week 7.3).

Colors’ India’s Got Talent too improved this week with 6.6 TVM (last week 5.9).

Sony’s crime series, CID, fetched 4.6 TVM against last week’s 3.8 TVM.

Life OK’s Shapath recorded 4.1 TVM (last week 4.5).

Dance India Dance Season 4 on Zee TV had an average viewership of 4.1 TVM (last week 3.7 TVM).

Sony’s second crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 3.7 TVM (last week 3.1).

Hatim onLife OK fetched 3.4 TVM (last week 4.2).

Fear Files on Zee TV was unmoved and recorded 3 TVM (last week 2.7).

Boogie Woogie on Sony improved its ratings to 2.4 TVM (last week 1.7).
