Star Plus continues to rule although Sony narrows the gap; Zee TV touches new low

Sony creates record with its 3 shows in top 5 programs in the Week 39 of TAM 2011

Though none of the leading Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) has seen any addition in last week’s GRPs, Sony looks firm in its No.2 position achieved six weeks ago. The channel has created a new record with three of its shows rating among the top 5 programmes in Week 39 of TAM 2011. On the other hand, Colors and Zee TV have lost 8 GRPs each.

The top 5 programmes for Week 39 (Sept 18-24) are KBC (5.4 TVR), Saathiya (5.2 TVR), Balika Vadhu (4.0 TVR), BALH (3.9 TVR), CID (3.8 TVR).

Star Pluscontinues to rule the Hindi GEC space despite a marginal loss of 3 GRPs in Week 39, registering 289 GRPs (last week 292).

Afterregistering the highest ever TRPs in the history of the channel last week,SonyEntertainment Television (SET)has created new history, recording 270 GRPs (last week 271).

At No.3,Colorsrecorded 211 GRPs (last week 219 GRPs).

Now a distant No.4,Zee TVrecorded 176 points (last week 184).

SAB TVrecorded 123 GRPs in Week 39 (last week 124).

India’s No.6 Hindi GEC,Imagine TV,recorded 78 GRPs during the week (last week 75).

Star Onerecorded 39 GRPs (last week 43) andSahara Onegarnered 33 GRPs (last week 31).
