Star India appoints Arpita Menon as Head – media planning & buying

Arpita Menon has joined Star India as Head Media Planning and Buying functions at the network. She will be based out of Mumbai and report in to Gayatri Yadav, EVP and Head – Marketing, Star India. She resumed work in last week.

An IIM Bangalore alumnus, Arpita has spent about two decades in Media and Advertising industry. Arpita joins in here from media analytics company Quantemplate where she was Managing Partner from May 2009. During her stint with Quantemplate, she unveiled her book, Media Buying and Planning – Principles & Practice in the Indian Context in January 2010.

Prior to joining Quantemplate, she had worked with 9:9 Media and ABP as Vice Presidents for 2 years. Arpita had spent 6 years with Lodestar Universal where she rose up to Vice President role before joining ABP.

Arpita started her career with FCB Ulka in 1992 where she spent 4 years. She had short stints with Starcom and HTA also before joining Lodestar.

In light of this, we at Star Plus, wanted to spread awareness about voting rights amongst first time voters and mobilize the youth.
