The launch of Tollywood Squares is aligned to Star Maa’s promise of delivering compelling content that appeals to the masses, breaks conventional boundaries of language and in the process sets trends in Television. Viu, the OTT service by Vuclip and PCCW, have emphasized original regional digital content since their launch in 2016 and have launched some very successful shows in Telugu. This partnership will help deliver cross-platform content as the show will be available on a digital platform and a television channel simultaneously.

We are known for bringing the best of its kind of shows from around the world and present it to our Telugu viewers in the regional flavour. In this regard, we are pleased to now bring 'Hollywood Squares', an international award-winning format first in India for the Telugu people. The show is an exciting version of our favourite childhood game "Tic-tac-toe", however, adapted for television viewing with interesting celebrities in the 9 squares of the game. I am confident that this show will take our viewers across all age groups down the memory lanes and transform the TV viewers’ experience. We are extremely pleased to partner with Viu for this show and together entertain our viewers”

Elaborating on the show and Partnership, Vishal Maheshwari, Country head, Viu India said, “We are thrilled to bring the most sought-after celebrity game show of Tollywood Squares. At Viu, our constant focus is to bring refreshing narratives and exciting new formats that appeal to the millennials. Our insights strengthened our belief that a format like this, which is iconic in its own right globally, would be a timely new addition to our bouquet of differentiated content. What is exciting about this format is that while contestants on the panel will be the ones playing the show, it will engage our viewers to such an extent that it will make them feel like participants themselves, whilst watching it on their digital screens. Our ‘Viuers’ can look forward to an array of similar cutting-edge, fresh and entertaining content in 2018.”
