04th January, 2024: Star Vijay is set to captivate viewers with the launch of another captivating fiction series titled ‘Thangamagal,’ a heartwarming family drama. The show is scheduled to premiere on January 22, 2024, airing from Monday to Saturday at 3 pm on Star Vijay.
Plot Summary:
The storyline follows Hasini, a wealthy and carefree young woman who accidentally causes the death of an innocent man. Pressured by her mother, Hasini must seek forgiveness from the victim's family or face imprisonment. Opting to enter the family as a maid, Hasini endeavors to win their hearts and mercy. Despite handling unfamiliar situations with ease, Hasini firmly believes that money can resolve any issue. On the other hand, Muthupandi, a high-spirited and easy-going individual with a fourth-grade education, believes he knows everything and is short-tempered. Living with his elder sister's family, who suffered the loss of her husband in an accident caused by Hasini, the plot unfolds with unexpected twists and turns.

‘Thangamagal’ marks a significant launch for the afternoon time band, featuring a cast of both fresh faces and established artists, including Thalaivasal Vijay, Vinodhini (known for her role in Ponniyin Selvan alongside Aishwarya Rai), Ajai Ratnam, actress Gayathri Jayaram, Neepa, and Ashwini. Ashwini, portraying the main female character, is familiar to Star Vijay viewers from her previous role in Namma Veetu Ponnu. Yuvan, playing Muthupandi, is the son of the late veteran comedian Thiru. Mayilsamy, making a notable debut on a major serial.
The series is directed by Harish Aditya, known for his work on Kaatrukenna Veli on the channel, and hails from the legendary actor NS Krishnan’s family.
